Meet the Team – Jonathan Breuer
One thing we like to do when inducting new team members here at Arnold Group is to give our community of clients and candidates a chance to get to know them as well.
We caught up with our newest team member Jono to understand his background and what he brings to our clients and candidates. Here is what we learnt about him.
Jono studied a Bachelor of Applied Science, majoring in Health promotion. He’s always been passionate about health and wellness, which is a theme that has influenced many of his career choices.
In all of his corporate roles Jono has experienced the growth of the health and safety team and, in particular, the development of a safety culture within an organisation. He attributes this to great communication between the safety team and the decision makers and his common sense approach to helping his stakeholders ensure their staff return home safely at the end of their working day.
Stakeholder management has been an essential part of his more recent roles, with significant experience delivering the safety message and overcoming both obstacles and blockers for those individuals within the organisation who are less educated about the importance and value of developing a safety culture.
He is very familiar with the catch cry “but I have been doing this job the same way for 20 years and I have never been hurt” and understands how to work with individuals and teams to develop address this common response and develop a stronger safety culture for the organisation.
Jono’s experience in dealing with self-insurance, health and safety procedures, training programs and the rollout of national initiatives makes him very familiar with the challenges Safety People’s clients are facing. He understands your language and your staffing needs.
Jono also has direct return to work and injury management experience. We love his enthusiasm for getting everyone home at the end of the day to do the things they love… whether that be playing golf or spending time with their family.
We know that Jono can help you build your safety culture and your safety team. We know he understands the ins and outs of safety and we’re very happy that he’s fast becoming a trusted advisor to many of our key clients.
Jono’s a family man and loves nothing more than spending good quality time with his wife and two boys. He loves the outdoors, long drives, walking and going on new adventures. When he’s not at work or with his family you’ll find him playing golf, watching sport on TV, away on a boys weekend or sitting around a table playing cards and enjoying a nice glass of Scotch.
When we introduce a new team member we like to ask them why they wanted to work with our team. Jono says that when he first met the team in our office in Flinders Lane, Melbourne, he walked away from the interview saying “I’ve got to get that job!” He loves the family vibe and connected instantly with our existing team. He is a great cultural fit here at Safety People and we look forward to seeing him kicking goals professionally and for our clients.
