Driver Trainer

Driver Trainer role in logistics. Coach, assess and develop drivers while improving safety, compliance and performance outcomes.

  • Brisbane based with site visits within QLD

We’re seeking an experienced Driver Trainer to support capability, compliance and safety across a busy transport and logistics operation based in Brisbane's Southside.

This is a hands-on role focused on developing safe, skilled and compliant drivers through structured training, coaching and assessment. You’ll play a key role in improving operational performance, strengthening safety culture, and ensuring drivers meet legislative and customer requirements.

The Role
Working closely with operations and training teams, you will deliver practical, high-quality driver training programs and ensure ongoing competency across the workforce. You’ll also contribute to incident reviews, training planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver driver induction, onboarding, refresher and skills-based training
  • Conduct driver competency assessments (pre-employment and existing staff)
  • Coach drivers in safe, efficient and compliant driving practices
  • Maintain accurate training records and compliance documentation
  • Support incident investigations and assist with corrective actions
  • Identify training gaps and support the development of training plans
  • Assist in developing training materials using adult learning principles
About You
You are a confident, practical trainer with strong heavy vehicle experience and a focus on safety and standards. You lead by example and are comfortable working with drivers at all levels.

You will bring:
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Training and Assessment (essential)
  • Heavy vehicle licence (MC preferred)
  • Forklift licence (essential)
  • Strong background in heavy vehicle driving and/or transport operations
  • Experience delivering training, coaching or assessing in the workplace
  • Solid understanding of fatigue management, load restraint and transport compliance
  • Strong awareness of WHS and safe systems of work
  • Clear communication and strong documentation skills
