Our client is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Performance and Assurance Manager to lead safety systems, assurance, risk, wellbeing and performance across a complex statewide emergency services environment.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who can improve systems, influence at organisational level and turn safety data, audit outcomes and risk insights into clear action. You will provide oversight across injury management, workers compensation, fitness for duty, health and wellbeing, assurance reporting and data management.

A major focus will be strengthening the Health and Safety Management System, leading audit and assurance activity, and embedding high consequence risk, critical control assurance and critical risk verification programs. Experience with BowTie methodology or other critical risk frameworks will be highly regarded.

You will lead two direct reports and work closely with senior leaders, operational teams and specialist functions to improve safety maturity, governance and decision-making.
You will bring:

Senior experience in HSMS improvement, audit, assurance and performance reporting
Strong knowledge of critical control programs, critical risk verification and legal obligations
Experience overseeing injury management, workers compensation and fitness for duty
Strong data, reporting and assurance capability
Proven people leadership and stakeholder influence at executive or organisational level
A practical, improvement-focused approach to health, safety and wellbeing

This is not a tick-the-box safety role. It needs someone who can lead, challenge, simplify and improve how safety assurance works across a high-impact organisation.
