Our client is seeking a practical Health, Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner to support a diverse local government workforce across depots, field operations, built infrastructure, planning, environmental services and corporate teams.

This is not a desk-bound safety role. The successful candidate will be visible, hands-on and confident engaging with supervisors, managers, operational crews, contractors and technical teams. You will spend time on site, including early depot starts, helping leaders identify hazards, improve controls and reduce incidents before they become investigations.
The role will cover incident triage, investigations, corrective actions, risk assessments, safety observations, committee support, psychosocial risk, occupational violence and aggression, and improvement of health and safety systems.

We are looking for a capable HSW generalist with sound Victorian OHS legislation knowledge, strong communication skills and the judgement to know when matters need to be escalated, including WorkSafe notification requirements.

Experience in local government, infrastructure, field services, transport, heavy plant, facilities, construction, healthcare, utilities or other complex multi-site environments will be highly regarded.

You will need relevant OHS qualifications, a current Victorian driver's licence and the flexibility to support emergency response activities when required.
