We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Manager to join our team on a six-month contract covering long service leave. This full-time position is based on the stunning Mornington Peninsula and operates under a flexible hybrid model.

Key Responsibilities:
  • General Safety Management: Oversee the safety management systems development, implementation, and maintenance to ensure compliance with relevant OHS legislation and best practices.
  • Technical Escalation: Act as the primary point of contact for technical safety issues, providing expert advice and guidance to resolve complex safety concerns promptly.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and support two direct reports, fostering a collaborative and proactive safety culture within the team.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement effective control measures.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver OHS training programs to employees, ensuring everyone has the knowledge and skills to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Incident Management: Lead incident investigations, analyse root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive safety reports to senior management, highlighting key safety metrics and improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in an OHS management role, preferably within a similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian OHS legislation and standards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor a small team.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle technical safety issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
