We are looking for an experienced Safety Advisor to support our clients team in Regional Queensland. This role is key to fostering a positive safety culture and ensuring WHS compliance.

Your Role:
- Deliver assigned aspects of the Safety & Wellness Work Health and Safety Management Plan, Operational Risk Register, and Operational Plan to achieve KPIs and deliverables.
- Partner with workers and key stakeholders to promote proactive safety engagement and meet legislative obligations.
- Develop and implement a sustainable safety program to give workers the skills and abilities to influence safety outcomes.
- Assist in the effective response to incidents and conduct timely incident investigations.
- Ensure WHS communication and consultation processes are followed.
- Provide advice and mentoring support to statutory Health and Safety Representatives.
- Deliver internal health and safety training to all levels of employees.
- Actively promote the identification and correction of hazards and risks.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and review of the health and safety management system.
- Work in partnership with teams to identify WHS aspects in strategic and business plans.
- Promote new ways of working and agree on best practice risk management to maximize opportunities and support change.
- Facilitate a consistent coaching approach, empowering managers to assume increasing responsibility for safety management.
What You’ll Need:
- Solid experience in high-risk environments with a track record of improving safety.
- Min. Cert IV in WHS or related qualification.
- At least 3 years in Health and Safety with strong knowledge of QLD WHS laws.
- Skilled in incident investigations and risk assessments.
- Great communication skills and ability to work well with others.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
- QLD C class provisional driver’s licence.
- Experience in local government or specific safety certifications.
