The Senior Claims Specialist will see you managing complex cases to ensure the best recovery and return-to-work outcomes. This role utilises advanced claims, injury, and return-to-work management skills, along with exceptional stakeholder management, to support injured workers and employers.

The specialist plays a crucial role in providing a critical service that significantly impacts injured workers during challenging times. Additionally, the role involves mentoring and supporting case managers, offering strategic and operational guidance as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adopting a strategic and proactive approach to case management.
  • Attending and actively participating in claims reviews and clinical case conferences.
  • Assessing recovery and liability aspects in line with Victorian workers' compensation.
  • Guiding claims teams in complex scenarios and strategies for timely interventions.
  • Providing face-to-face support to injured workers, employers, and stakeholders.
  • Leading cohort-based claims strategies at various organisational levels.
  • Handling lead claims management for high-priority and complex cases.
  • Overseeing portfolio responsibilities to meet contractual obligations.

Required Expertise
  • Extensive experience in Victorian workers' compensation claims management
  • Knowledge of medical and paramedical terminology and treatments
  • Strong understanding of the Workplace Injury and Rehabilitation Act 2015 and related regulations
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ACCtion and Novus systems
