Health Safety & Wellbeing Manager
- Food manufacturing & packaging company based in Laverton area
- Salary circa $120,000 plus Super, based on experience

You will be working for a large food manufacturing company that is focused on building on their established great safety culture and taking safety and wellbeing to the next level, in line with the broader company strategy.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role reporting directly to the Head of Safety and Wellbeing. It will see you participating in both office and field-based work, engaging with the operations team to provide Health Safety Wellbeing support across the site. Interact with the national team on a regular basis to drive HSW initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Actively drive consistent HSW standards and procedures along with leading innovative HSW solutions
- Communicate HSW information, engage and consult with the team
- Provide leadership and support to the operations and plant teams
- Proactively assist managers to implement the companies safety management system, negotiate and influence outcomes
- Conduct site inspections, audits, ergonomic checks, hazard identification and implement controls with the operations team
- Assist and/or lead near miss and incident investigations
- An active and inspirational contributor to the senior leadership team
- Provide guidance on legislative compliance for the site, including plant, machinery and transport requirements
- Provide direction and subject matter expertise for the implementation of Safety and Wellbeing related training including Hazard & Risk Management, Manual handling and Safety leadership
- Oversee Return to work and injury management, driving
- Report on positive performance indicators
To be successful in this role:
- Polished professional having 4+ years HSE experience in manufacturing or similar environment
- Knowledge and awareness of managing risks associated with production and packaging machinery
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
- Cert IV OHS as a minimum
- Training, coaching and mentoring skills
- Passion for continual improvement in a dynamic environment
